MOUNTAIN VIEW LAKE ESTATES WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS
CITY OF GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA

Separate sealed Bids for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the Mountain View Lake Estates Water Main Extensions are planned to be received by the Owner.

The Project consists of the following major elements: Furnishing all products and performing all labor necessary for the construction of approximately 11,335 L.F. of 8-inch ductile iron water main; 4,400 L.F. of 6-inch ductile iron water main; 1,490 L.F. of 2-inch polyvinyl chloride water main; the installation of approximately 100 meters; including all necessary and required appurtenances and service changeovers; and erosion and sedimentation control.

The work will be awarded in one Contract.

Bidder Pre-Qualification: Pre-qualification of Bidders for the Project is required. A copy of the application and qualification requirements can be obtained from the office of the Public Utilities Engineering and Construction Services Division (phone number 770-535-2466) by September 06, 2009. Completed applications for pre-qualification for bidding will be received at the office of the Public Utilities Engineering and Construction Services Division until 5:00 p.m., local time on Friday, October 23, 2009. All applicants submitting pre-qualification documentation will be notified of their status by Friday, October 30, 2009.

ONLY BIDS SUBMITTED BY PROPERLY PRE-QUALIFIED BIDDERS WILL BE OPENED.

Pre-qualified Contractors will be notified when copies of Contract Documents are available for purchase.

Each Bid will be required to be accompanied by a Bid Bond, prepared on the form of Bid Bond located in the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid.

The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the Bid.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise.

The Gainesville City School System will receive proposals on October 14, 2009 for Construction Management-at-Risk services for certain facilities projects for a period of 3 years from January – 2010 to December - 2012.

The Gainesville City Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive technicalities.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The City of Gainesville Public Utilities Department is requesting proposals from qualified Firms to furnish One (1) New PC-Based Correlator Leak Detection System - RFP No. 10015.

Individual sealed proposals will be received at the City of Gainesville Purchasing Office, Room 103, Gainesville Administration Building, until 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 8, 2009, after which time, no further proposals will be accepted. Proposals will be publicly opened and recorded on the same date at 3:00 P.M., in the Conference Room (Room No. 305) at the Public Utilities Department Headquarters Building, 757 Queen city Parkway, Gainesville, GA.

It is the responsibility of the Firm submitting a proposal to ensure that it is received prior to the stated deadline. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered under any circumstances, and will be returned unopened after final award is made.

Specifications and response forms are available at the City of Gainesville Purchasing Office, Room 103, 300 Henry Ward Way, P.O. Box 2496, Gainesville, Ga. 30501. This information may otherwise be mailed or faxed upon request.
