NOTICE THAT NO GENERAL ELECTION WILL BE CONDUCTED BY THE
CITY OF GILLSVILLE, GEORGIA


This legal notice is to inform the electorate of the City of Gillsville, Georgia that the proposed General Election of the City of Gillsville, Georgia to fill the office of Mayor, currently held by Larry Poole, Post 1, currently held by Roy Turpin, and Post 2, currently held by Tim House, upon the City Council will not be conducted on November 3, 2009 due to the fact that Larry Poole for Mayor and Roy Turpin for Post 1 were the only candidates to qualify for said positions. No one qualified for Post 2 within the time allowed by law, and therefore said Post shall be deemed vacant on January 1, 2010, and filled by appointment by the City Council pursuant to Section 5.3 of the City Charter. Pursuant to O. C. G. A. § 21-2-291, in that each of the candidates are unopposed, the unopposed candidates are deemed to have voted for themselves, and no General Election will be conducted by the City of Gillsville, Georgia. Any member of the electorate having questions concerning said General Election should contact either the City Clerk, Paula Whiting, at (770) 869-3827, or the Gillsville City Attorney, R. David Syfan, at (770) 532-6312.

NOTICE

The Hall County Board of Elections will begin conducting a Logics and Accuracy Test on the Touch Screen Precinct, Accu-Vote Absentee Voting and Express Poll Systems that will be used in the upcoming City of Gainesville General Election held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

The test will begin on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10am, at the Hall County Elections and Voter Registration Office located at 2285 Browns Bridge Road, Suite 2 in Gainesville, Georgia, and will continue until all units have been tested and proven accurate.
