Sealed proposals for furnishing all labor, material, equipment and other things necessary for the following work will be receieved by the undersigned at the general office of the department of Transportation, One Georgia Center, 600 West Peachtree St, NW Atlanta, Georgia 30308 until 11:00am November 21, 2008 and publicly opened.
Traffic signal upgrades and installation of intersection video detection systems (VDS) at various locations on SR 11 and ending at SR 369.

Plans and specifications may be inspected at the general office in Atlanta and the district office indicated. Copies of the standard specifications ($20.00) The proposal Form ($10.00) and the plans (indicated price) may be obtained from the State Transportation Office Engineer at the general office in Atlanta, Telephone Number (404) 656-5293. Payment of the correct amount must be made within 30 days of billing, such payments are non refundable.
Payment will be made to the contractor each calender month based on the estimated work complete in place as prescribed by the standard specifications.
The Department of Transportation reserves the right to reject any/all bids.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDDERS

Separate, sealed bids for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and incidentals necessary for the construction of the City of Lula Outfall Sewer will be received by the City of Lula, herein referred to as the Owner, at City Hall located at 6055 Main St., Lula, Georgia 30554 until 2:00 p.m., December 2, 2008 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the designated time will not be considered. Those received late will be returned unopened.

The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows:
The project consists of approximately 11,750 LF of 18_, and 10_ diameter gravity sewer line with approximately 45 4_ diameter manholes. The project also includes several stream crossings.

Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same.
Bidding Documents may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $200.00 payable by check or money order at the offices of the Engineer, Rindt-McDuff Associates, 334 Cherokee Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060, (770) 427-8123. The check or money order shall be made payable to Rindt-McDuff Associates. A street address must also be provided to ensure prompt delivery. The OWNER is not obligated to consider a Bidder's proposal, if Bidder is not on record with the Issuing Office as having received complete Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office.
The time allowed for substantial completion and readiness for final payment is 160 calendar days from the date of commencement.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the Owner in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. Said checks will be returned to the unsuccessful bidder as soon as the contract or contracts have been awarded to the successful bidder as soon as he has executed the contract or contracts and furnished the necessary bonds, same having been approved by the City's attorney and the Contract has been executed by the City.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms included in these specifications. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement.
All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for sixty (60) days after the day of the Bid opening, but Owner may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities, re-advertise, and to reduce or add to the contract from time to time.

Bidding Documents may be obtained upon payment of $450.00, non-refundable. The OWNER is not obligated to consider a Bidder's proposal, if Bidder is not on record with the Issuing Office as:

1.Having received complete Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office.

The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 270 days from the date of notice to proceed.

The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement.

Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia.

All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day of the Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date.

Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the OWNER. Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as, “Bid for City of Lula WWTP Improvements.” If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention of the OWNER at the address previously given. Include your Utility Contractor's License number on the outside of the bid envelope.

The Hall County Board of Education is accepting proposals for a HP Procurve switch project. Request for the (RFP's) can be made by calling Pam Cravero at 770-534-1080.
