HALL COUNTY HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION
EDUCATIONAL
PURPOSES
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF HALL COUNTY NOTICE is hereby given that on the 4th day of November, an election will be held in Hall County at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of Hall County School Districts for their determination to amend an Act providing homestead exemptions from Hall County school district ad valorem taxes for educational purposes for certain residents of that school district who are senior citizens. The question submitted is:
Shall the Act be approved which amends the Hall County school district homestead exemptions for senior citizens by
allowing any person who is 62 to 70 years of age who
receives the first exemption to automatically receive the
second exemption upon reaching 70 years of age?
THE SPECIAL ELECTION will be held at the regular polling places in conjunction with the November 4 General Election for Hall County School District and the polls will open at 7:00 am and close at 7:00 pm on the date fixed for the election. The Board of Registrars shall cease taking applications from persons desiring to register to vote in this election on October 6, 2008.

ALL INDEPENDENT AND NONPARTISAN CANDIDATES WHOSE NAMES APPEAR ON THE BALLOT
The Election Superintendent of Hall County, Georgia, through Charlotte Sosebee-Hunter, Interim Director of Elections, hereby provides written notice to each political party and political body having candidates whose names appear on the ballot and to each independent and nonpartisan candidate whose name appears on the ballot of the Election Superintendent's intent to open the inner envelopes and begin the absentee ballot tabulation prior to the close of the polls on November 4, 2008. Such parties and persons are hereby notified of their right to appoint monitors to observe the tabulation in accordance with Official Code of Georgia Annotated § 21-2-386. The County Executive Committee, or, if there is no organized County Executive Committee, the State Executive Committee of each political party and political body having candidates whose names appear on the ballot for the November 4, 2008 Election shall have the right to designate two persons as monitors. Each independent and nonpartisan candidate whose name appears on the ballot for the November 4, 2008 Election in Hall County shall have the right to designate one person to act as a monitor for the absentee ballot tabulation process.
All persons conducting the tabulation of absentee ballots during the November 4, 2008 Election, including the Vote Review Panel and all monitors and observers, shall be sequestered until the time for the closing of the polls. All such persons shall have no contact with the news media; shall have no contact with other persons not involved in monitoring, observing, or conducting the tabulation; shall not use any type of communication device including radios, telephones, and cellular telephones; shall not utilize computers for the purpose of electronic mail, instant messaging, or other forms of communication; and shall not communicate any information concerning the tabulation until the time for the closing of the polls.

HALL COUNTY ADVISORY REFERENDUM
AD VALOREM TAXES
Shall the governing authority of Hall County, Georgia authorize the Tax Commissioner of Hall County to collect the payment of ad valorem taxes on tangible property, other than motor vehicles, in two installments instead of one payment for the total amount of the tax due?
