Invitation for Bidder's Pre-Qualification
ATHENS HIGHWAY REGIONAL SEWERAGE FACILITIES
CITY OF GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA
Separate sealed Bids for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the Athens Highway Regional Sewerage Facilities are planned to be received by the Owner July 10, 2008.
The Project consists of the following major elements:

Pump Station Improvements: Construction and Installation of a new 2MGD Athens Highway Sewage Pump Station and abandonment of the existing Lenox Park Sewage Pump Station; and all associated appurtenances.

Gravity Sewer and Force Main Improvements: Construction of approximately 8,400 linear feet (L.F.) of 14-inch ductile iron pipe force main; 900 L.F. of 8-inchgravity sewer, 2500 L.F. of 10-inch gravity sewer, and 1750 L.F. of 12-inch gravity sewer.

Roadway and Storm Drainage Improvements: Construction of approximately 1500 L.F. of Wilson Drive extension and 2500 L.F. of an access road to the proposed pump station.
The work will be awarded in one Contract.
Bidder Pre Qualification: Pre qualification of Bidders for the Project is required. A copy of the application and qualification requirements can be obtained from the office of the Public Utilities Engineering Division (phone number 770-535-6892). Applications for pre qualification for bidding will be received at the office of the Public Utilities Engineering Division until 5:00 p.m., local time, Friday, May 23, 2008. All applicants submitting pre qualification documentation will be notified of their status by Friday, May 30, 2008.

ONLY BIDS SUBMITTED BY PROPERLY PRE QUALIFIED BIDDERS WILL BE OPENED.

Copies of Contract Documents will be made available at a later date.

Each Bid will be required to be accompanied by a Bid Bond, prepared on the form of Bid Bond located in the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid.
The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the Bid.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise.
